Whilst at University i was creating a Project called 'Roller Girls'. After attending tournament games through a friend who played for Newcastle roller girls it sparked the idea to document team events, capturing their competitions and training sessions whilst learning more about those who participate and their reasons for doing so. Combining still photographs of these various team events with the spoken testimonial of a leading team member, ‘Roller Girls’ offers a player’s perspective of this energetic team sport, highlighting the benefits of participation and what it means to be part of a wider, supportive community.
